WEEK 8 FEATURED GAME – EAGLES @ COWBOYS

This week I decided to check in one of the biggest rivalries in the NFC in Eagles vs Cowboys. The Cowboys started off with the ball on offence and started very badly with Romo throwing a pick six on a screen on only the second play of the game. Romo shrugged this off driving down to the Eagles nine on the next drive mainly through the air; but the drive stalled and to make matters worse the chip shot field goal was then blocked! The next Cowboys drive was to be much better though with Ezekiel Elliot finally getting going and Dez making a great catch in the redzone on a jump ball to tie the game at 7-7. The Eagles offence then showed up with a big 47 yard run for Ryan Mathews to set up the Eagles in the redzone. However they were to make a big mistake with Wentz throwing the ball into double coverage for a bad interception. The Cowboys were to make an even worse mistake to follow with Romo taking a safety to give the Eagles the ball back and a 9-7 lead. After a quick Eagles 3 and out, a few big runs from Elliot set-up the Cowboys with an redzone chance again but once again they were stopped just short this time at the two but were able to take a 10-9 lead on a field goal. Eagles fans were shocked they were still in this game going into half time with Wentz having only completed one pass and that for minus yards! The second half started more of the same with Wentz playing abysmally and the Cowboys driving deep into the Eagles half only to make a bad mistake; a pick on the first drive of the half. Ezekiel Elliot broke over 100 yards on the day late into the third but Romo was undoing all his good work throwing another pick in the endzone after another long drive late in the third! Luckily for the Cowboys the Eagles were still awful on offence but Romo seemed to desperate to help them out throwing a pick in his own redzone which led to Wendell Smallwood running one in and Wentz finally delivering on a two point conversion to put the Eagles up 17-10! This was to be game over for the Cowboys as they failed to convert on a fourth and two giving the Eagles a very strange win!
